How it all began…
In 1946, just out of the war, brothers Chester and Dan started a neighborhood tap. By combining their names, they called it “Chesdan’s Inn”. They began working on new ideas for the business. They decided to start serving food. Dan’s sweetheart, Sophie, not only loved him, but also loved Italian food.
So, when working on their menu, they went with an Italian/American cuisine, with pizza being their signature item. In 1950, a third brother, John, joined his two hard-working brothers in their successful business.
During the course of being in business for so many decades, Chesdan’s has received many honors and awards. Being in the “Taste of Chicago” for three years was one of the highlights. The original Brighton Park location was a local landmark for great pizza and fellowship. Many first dates and marriage proposals took place within the walls of the Archer Ave. location.
Current owners, brothers Dan and Jim (sons of the original owner Dan) have kept all the flavors and fun of the original location and has carried them over to the Homer Glen Pizzeria & Grille.
And the story continues…
Today’s Homer Glen location offers its guests the original award winning pizza recipe that Chesdan’s is famous for. Come in and enjoy a wonderful meal served by a warm and friendly staff.
The location may have changed, but the great food and excellent service hasn’t. If you’re a regular guest or new to the Chesdan’s experience, we know your visit with us will be an enjoyable one!
